NYSACHO Announces the Establishment of a Past Board Director Committee of it’s Membership!
The New York State Association of County Health Officials is excited to announce the launch of a new membership committee in 2023, which will be comprised of public health experts who previously served as a Board Director or Officer at NYSACHO but have since departed to work outside of the local governmental public health sector. This committee of volunteer professionals will report directly to the NYSACHO board of directors and will be invited to participate in virtual and in person meetings throughout the year.
The attached document provides a high-level overview of committee responsibilities and includes an application for participation. At this time, we are working to establish criteria around expectations for this committee e.g., parameters for how NYSACHO will fund activities and travel, the types of topics that this committee will address (public-private partnerships, clinical-preventive collaboration, fundraising, strengthening the public health workforce), which events the committee will be invited to, etc. We hope that our first few committee members will aid and provide input into the development of these parameters!
We are so excited to embark on this incredible opportunity with partners who have demonstrated a longstanding commitment to NYSACHO, hold immense expertise around public health, population health, health equity and bring unparalleled value from a diverse array of sectors outside of local government. This opportunity is aimed to be mutually beneficial to both NYSACHO members as well as committee members as we foresee many opportunities for new partnership and collaboration.
