A healthy school setting gives all students the best chance to learn and grow. Vaccines are vital to this effort. They protect children from getting and spreading diseases that can make them sick.
As parents and children prepare to go back to in-person learning in the fall, the Health Department and ImmuNYze New York are reminding residents about the importance of routine vaccinations with a new ad campaign. The campaign “Back to School, Safely” reminds parents and guardians to get their children vaccinated on time.
This toolkit contains resources for pediatric healthcare providers serving children and adolescents in New York State including social media posts, family outreach materials, and office rack cards for download. Providers and local health departments are urged to vaccinate adolescents according to the recommended immunization schedule put forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
This toolkit includes a sample phone call script, sample letter to families, and information on the social media toolkit and rack card.
To order free copies of the rack card, contact [email protected].
This customizable template for Pediatricians and Family Practitioners can be utilized to send to families either via mail or email encouraging and reminding them to return to the office for well-child visits and vaccinations prior to returning to school. Be sure to include this message on your organization’s letterhead.
