Registered Nurse-Epidemiology

Responsibilities

This is a professional nursing position involving responsibility for providing bedside and clinical care to convalescent, chronically ill, and seriously ill patients in a health care facility.  Registered Professional Nurses will be required to successfully complete a medication examination prior to permanent appointment.  General supervision is received from a senior level nursing staff member.  Direct supervision may be exercised over Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants.  Does related work as required.

Person is responsible for the coordination of activities for the Disease Control unit. Duties include supervising and participating in case investigations and reporting communicable diseases (with the exception of Tuberculosis and Sexually Transmitted Diseases). The position is scheduled to work Monday to Friday, day shift.

Minimum Qualification

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered school of nursing.

Special Requirement

Possession of a New York State License as a Registered Nurse.
This position is subject to a background check for criminal convictions. Convictions will be considered but will not automatically disqualify the candidate. No criminal background check will occur until after a conditional offer of employment has been made, unless required prior to a conditional offer because of the nature of the position or otherwise required by law.
Candidates for employment with Monroe County Government will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test. Failure to meet the standards may result in disqualification.
If you are appointed, you will be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Salary: $60,593 - $84,033 annually
