Responsibilities

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative Only):
• Organizes or works with community groups and directs educational efforts to influence public attitudes and behavior with
regard to given health needs;
• Participates in studies and surveys of public health education needs in the community and evaluates the materials and
methods used to determine the effectiveness of the program;
• Assists program coordinators with statistical evaluation of program, writing of reports, budget preparation, etc.;
• Prepares news releases and material for media, including social media;
• Establishes and maintains liaison with community and governmental agencies to provide understanding and support of
Public Health services;
• Solicits, screens and evaluates new educational materials available;
• Assists with the PMQI (Performance Management Quality Improvement) program activities;
• May perform quality assurance audits for Agency programs;
• May assist Environmental Health staff in conducting in-home assessments for the Healthy Neighborhoods Program;
• Assists with the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program; grant requirements, drills and staff education;
• Researches and identifies evidence based programs;
• Coordinates outreach efforts for better utilization of existing health services;
• Monitors program goals and objectives, compiles and analyzes data and completes all required paperwork/reports;
• Staffs Public Health promotion/outreach (tabling) events, including occasional events outside of normal business hours;
• Performs other related duties as directed.

Minimum Qualification

A. A Bachelor’s Degree in health education or health-related field; OR
B. A Bachelor’s Degree, with thirty (30) credit hours in the social or behavioral sciences and two (2) years’ experience
in health education.

Special Requirement

RESIDENCY: Candidates must have been legal residents of Seneca County or one of the six (6) contiguous
counties for one (1) month preceding the date of application. Preference in appointment may be given to
successful candidates who have been legal residents of the municipality in which appointment is to be made for
at least one (1) month prior to the date of certification and are residents of such municipality at the time of
appointment.

Salary: $57,147
