Responsibilities

This is a professional nursing position, under the supervision of the Director of Public Health Nursing Services.  It involves the responsibility for the provision of nursing services and the supervision of nursing practice to assure safe, effective and efficient comprehensive nursing care in homes, clinics, schools and other community facilities.  Supervision of the work of assigned public health professionals or auxiliary nursing staff is required.  Does related work as required.

Minimum Qualification

Either:

  • Master’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university;

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university; and two (2) years full-time paid experience, or its’ part-time equivalent, in a public or community health setting.

Special Requirement

At time of employment and throughout the duration of employment in this title, the incumbent must possess and continuously maintain a license, and current registration, as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.

Upon a conditional employment offer and in accordance with Ulster County Legislative Local Law Number 14 of 2007 or by other State and Federal Statutes, prospective candidates for employment to all Ulster County positions must obtain clearance for appointment from the Department of Criminal Justice System or other mandated Federal and State regulatory authorities. Such prospective candidates will be required to be fingerprinted accordingly.

Salary: $48.76/hr. plus an excellent benefit package including NYS Retirement System membership, paid holidays, vacation, sick, and personal leave. This is a 35-hour/week in-person employment opportunity.
