Has any county commissioner or executive issued a moratorium on tire burning particularly around facilities that do this kind of work that would supersede DEC’s approval?

Westchester County Sanitary Code prohibits burning of an open fire. Except where prohibited by law, burning in an open fire may be permitted for the following cases with an approved restricted burning permit issued by the Westchester County Department of Health:

• Land clearing
• Fire training
• School bonfires
