Non-Medical Exemptions for Vaccinations

Do you have a resolution supporting the importance of ending non-medical exemptions for vaccinations? If so, could you share?

Partial Service LHD Pesticide Approval

I have a daycare with OCFS regulations stating the local health department must approve any pesticides they will spray on their property. They have a bad tick problem around their playground. Being a partial service county, I referred her to my district office who handles our environmental services. They said they do not deal with this. Has anyone else ran into this issue and how have you handled it?

Ban of Retail Marijuana

My Board of Health voted unanimously last night to call on our Board of Supervisors to ban retail marijuana outlets in our county. In making their decision they relied on the great work done in Nassau County in banning such outlets. I am writing a press release and I would like to know what other counties have taken similar votes.

Tattoo Codes

Schenectady County has a question for the members. Our current tattoo code requires tattoo artist to apply a thin layer of antibacterial ointment over the tattoo and then apply a sterile gauze pad. Does anyone else do another process? We are having difficulty with one of our shops refusing to comply with this code because they feel it causes the ink to leach out of the skin.
